Fidelity Asia Pacific Opportunities

Introduction to the fund

Singapore-based Anthony Srom manages this high conviction fund of around 30 stocks. Anthony has a contrarian instinct and understanding other investors’ sentiment is a key factor in his decision making. Stock selection is based on three factors: fundamentals; sentiment and valuation. Anthony carefully considers the prospects for different industries before making any investment. The portfolio is constructed to ensure good diversification, despite the small number of holdings in the portfolio. The fund invests across the market-cap spectrum but around two thirds of the holdings are in large caps.

Anthony’s high-conviction and disciplined approach helps this fund to stand out from its peers. He is a true active manager, who focuses on finding the best companies rather than simply focusing on an industry or theme. His track record of minimising volatility is also impressive.
