JOHCM UK Opportunities removed from Chelsea Selection, as manager retires

15th March 2017 – After more than a quarter of century managing money, John Woods, manager of JOHCM UK Opportunities, has announced that he will be retiring at the end of September.

John has successfully managed the fund since 2005 and it spent time on both the Chelsea Core Selection and Selection lists.

The fund will be handed to Rachel Reutter and Michael Ulrich. Rachel has been co-manager of the fund since 2012 and Michael has been co-manager since 2015.

Ken Lambden, group chief executive of JOHCM, said: "John has generated excellent returns for our clients over the past 11 years. He has always invested with conviction and been prepared to swim against the tide. We thank him for his tremendous contribution.

"John has built a strong team around him. Rachel and Michael are highly capable, experienced investors, and we are confident in their abilities to continue the good work that John led."

Darius McDermott, managing director of Chelsea, commented: “John has been a fantastic fund manager and we wish him well for the future. However, the fund will be removed from the Chelsea Selection and downgraded to a generic 'hold', pending a meeting with the co-fund managers.”
