What is a General Investment Account (GIA)?
For investors who have used their whole ISA allowance, have contributed to their pension and are now looking for somewhere else to save money, you could consider a General Investment Account (GIA).
- A GIA is a generic account that allows you to invest into a range of fund(s), but is not wrapped for tax-efficient purposes
- To hold a GIA you must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- There is no upper limit for what you can save in any given time period
- You may also like to consider a designated GIA. Some of our investors consider this route for a child, rather than a Junior ISA.
